Our story
Crafted by hand — Powered by data.
For too long, the user experience in data visualization tools has been an afterthought. Tools were built around providing utility to analysts but lacked the usability and clarity needed by everyone else. Frustrated with the status quo, we set out to create something better — a tool that teams would actually enjoy using.
We believe data deserves to be visualised beautifully. The origins of data visualization stretch back centuries, from William Playfair's formalisation of line and bar charts to Florence Nightingale's early infographics. Over time, as businesses gathered more data, analytics tools became more about function than form. Tools had to prioritise crunching data over making insights intuitive and accessible.
We believe data should empower, not overwhelm. Our goal is to create visualisations that are intuitive and delightful, not just functional. With Index, we're advocating for a new era of business intelligence where good craftsmanship and analytics merge seamlessly together. We're not just building smarter dashboards we're crafting experiences that feel simple, useful and delightful.
The future belongs to the curious. To those willing to dig deeper and ask better questions. Index equips all of us with a tool do precisely that. There’s a long road ahead but we couldn't be more excited to be on this mission. Join us.
